Awarded National Park Foundation Grant

Los Amigos de Valles Caldera was awarded a capacity-building grant from the National Park Foundation to strengthen its organization and expand its impact in Valles Caldera. Los Amigos is grateful to the NPF for this opportunity and will focus on strengthening the organization’s governance, long-term strategy, and marketing and outreach efforts through the development of a strategic plan, development of a marketing, outreach, and membership cultivation plan, board development, and more.

The Los Amigos grant is part of a $5 million investment by NPF to bolster 77 park partners across the country. It’s NPF’s largest investment in park partner capacity to-date and reflects the growing importance of park partners in supporting national parks through fundraising, program management, volunteer coordination, park infrastructure, and other critical functions. NPF Press Release"

Behind so much of the work happening in our national parks are nonprofit partners committed to helping these special places thrive and endure," said NPF's Chief Program Officer Lise Aangeenbrug. "The National Park Foundation is proud to be part of the broader national park community and continue our investments in empowering park partners to raise more support, engage more people, and take on new opportunities alongside the National Park Service. That's good for parks, and it's good for everyone who cares about them."

NPF is a nonprofit leader and catalyst in safeguarding America's 430+ national parks and ensuring they are accessible and enjoyable — for everyone, forever. As the official nonprofit partner to the National Park Service, NPF works to conserve and preserve threatened wildlife and land, inspire the next generation of park stewards, tell the complete story of American history, and ensure a world-class visitor experience.
