About the Event
Join us on Saturday, September 26 from 9:30-12 for National Public Lands Day and help care for the special landscape of Valles Caldera National Preserve!
Volunteers will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Volcano Discovery Center in the Preserve’s historic Cabin District. Registration is required.
Volunteer projects will help protect and maintain the natural resources of Valles Caldera and may include:
Picking up litter and debris along NM-4 and disposing of it in designated receptacles.
Building bumper logs that will be strategically placed throughout the park to help keep vehicles on designated road corridors and protect vegetation.
Please note: Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. If you are bringing a minor, please contact raelyn_toya@partner.nps.gov in advance.
